Ronnie Stewart returns to the track this weekend
It's official: Ronnie Stewart (#69) will be returning to his racing efforts at this weekend's race in Detroit, Michigan.
After a hard crash in the semi race at the second Atlanta round, Ronnie suffered injuries including a minor concussion, bruised ribs and bruising in the neck/ shoulder blade region. Due to the impact of the crash, he was brought to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. He was then notified that nothing was broken, and Ronnie was hopeful he'd soon get back to racing after leaving the hospital with orders to follow up with his doctor regarding his concussion and pain areas.
A few days after the crash, Ronnie made the trip back home to Pennsylvania, eager to start his recovery. As ordered, he followed up with a sports doctor who shaped his recovery on a day-by-day basis. Chiropractic, deep tissue massage and a series of concussion tests were necessary to satisfy his recovery program. Unfortunately, injuries don't heal overnight, so the decision was made to sit out the Daytona and Indianapolis rounds.
Getting back to racing, Ronnie was able to ride two times this week on an outdoor-style, soft terrain track. Coming into the 12th round of the 2015 supercross season, Ronnie participated in press riding for local televisions stations. This helped him tremendously as he was unable to practice on a supercross track during his recovery. Ronnie is excited to get back to racing and is focused on earning personal season high results.
