Another Bay Area Supercross

The April 18th supercross race was held at Levi Stadium, a new location for the series, nestled in historical Santa Clara, California. Amongst the many challenges that came along with the new location was the dry, hard packed dirt paired with steep jump faces and tight rhythm sections. The riders would classify the track as "sketchy" with the rocky terrain and tricky transfers. The 15th round would be the most talked about thus far in the 2015 season.

Ronnie Stewart went into battle with hopes of leaving the night series with a transfer into the main event. During his heat and semi race he wrestled with the whoops section as the bike stalled both races.

Changing his starting strategy, Ronnie came off the gate in the LCQ with traction and speed, getting him up front in the first turn. Making an aggressive pass during the first lap to take the lead, Ronnie was in the running to win the race. Before the white flag came out another rider made the pass to take over the lead. However, Ronnie finished the last chance qualifier with a second place finish, which qualified him for the 450 main event. In the main event, Ronnie finished 19th and was satisfied to leave the difficult track in one piece, excited to head back east for his home town race.

The next race will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this coming weekend. After its record breaking attendance last year - reaching over 62,000 people - the race will be aired live on FOX for the first time ever. Opposed to being broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 or FOX Sports 2, the main network will change the schedule so the racing action will take place during the day instead of the normal night show. The east coast location is home to rider Ronnie Stewart, as he was born and raised 45 minutes from the stadium. He will come to the race backed by a huge fan base, including a section made up of 350 close family and friends.
